Value Stream Management

Value Stream Management

“The most critical metric is how long it takes for an innovative idea to reach a customer. If it takes your company months, how can you compete with an organization that delivers in days?”

Adrian Cockcroft, Vice President of Cloud Architecture Strategy, Amazon Web Services

Value Stream Management is a combination of people, process, and technology that maps, optimizes, measures, visualizes and governs business value flow (including features, stories, work items) through heterogeneous enterprise software delivery pipelines.

It’s not enough to adopt agile practices such as Scrum, Scaled Agile (SAFe) or Kanban to ensure teams are delivering faster, you have to visualize where teams are getting stuck and where business value stops flowing quickly to your customer.

Thru a series of facilitated workshops, I work with both business and development teams to identify how they work together currently. I then help teams inspect and adapt their current state processes and quickly identify where teams are getting stuck. The goal is to build out a continuous improvement backlog that will improve the flow of value. The goal is to help teams understand how they can work better together and develop a new way to collaborate and work together.

Using tools like TaskTop and TaskTop Viz, I help leaders and teams visualize flow across entire programs and sets of teams. This helps teams develop proactive sensing to prevent flow challenges from turning into technical debt.

Let’s explore this Agile World Together. Together is Better.
